Key Lessons Learned
1. Strong Local Collaboration is Crucial
▪ The involvement of the local church and community leaders helped mobilize patients effectively.
▪ Spiritual and social support from church members made patients feel more welcomed and comfortable.
2. High Demand for Primary and Eye Care Services
▪ There was a significant turnout for general consultation, vision checkups, and eye screening.
▪ Many patients had untreated chronic conditions (e.g., hypertension, diabetes) and undiagnosed eye problems (especially cataract and pterygium).
3. Community Awareness Needs Strengthening
Some community members were not fully aware of the service being offered, indicating a need for earlier or more effective information dissemination.
4. Spiritual and Holistic Healing Approach Was Well Received
Combining prayer and medical care provided comfort and hope to patients, especially the elderly.
