On February 25th, 2026, PMCI Cambodia conducted a one-day Health Camp Screening focused on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in Pou Village, Tbaeng Commune, Kampong Svay District, Kampong Thom Province. The activity aimed to provide free basic health screenings, raise awareness on NCD prevention, and identify serious cases requiring follow-up care.
Key Results:
• 55 community members screened (40 females, 15 males).
• 31 serious NCD cases identified (25 females, 6 males), involving hypertension, high blood sugar, and chronic conditions.
• High prevalence of NCD risks, with 56% of screened participants needing continued follow-up.
Lessons Learned:
• Local engagement greatly boosted attendance.
• Women showed strong health-seeking behavior (73% of participants).
• There is a clear need for ongoing NCD services and structured health education.
• The SHG model is suitable for sustaining long-term NCD support.
