In partnership with the Korean medical team, PMCI Cambodia will provide eye surgery (Cataract & Pterygium) to communities from different provinces on February 16th–18th, 2026, at Presbyterian Medical Center (PMC).
Our medical mission successfully conducted a total of 28 ophthalmic surgical procedures. These included 20 cataract surgeries, 7 pterygium surgeries, and 1 combined procedure addressing both cataract and pterygium in a single patient. All procedures were carried out through coordinated efforts between Cambodian and Korean ophthalmologists, supported by local partners and volunteers. The mission was implemented efficiently, ensuring patient safety, adherence to clinical standards, and quality postoperative care.
The collaboration among the participating organizations demonstrated strong partnership, unity, and professional commitment. As a result, patients experienced significant improvement in vision and overall quality of life.
The Purpose:
- To restore vision and improve the quality of life for patients living in underserved provinces.
- To share the message of Jesus Christ through compassionate medical service.
- To strengthen professional collaboration between Cambodian and Korean ophthalmologists in delivering comprehensive eye examinations and surgical care to disadvantaged communities across multiple provinces.
Patients received follow-up care, including suture removal and ongoing pastoral support. The mission also provided spiritual outreach, with 31 patients hearing the Gospel and 9 accepting Jesus Christ. The initiative highlights effective medical collaboration and compassionate community service.
